We were in Scotland for a few days earlier this month. We stayed at Monument View B&B in Stirling and used that as a base for a couple of day trips out to St. Andrews and the Trossachs.
It was a fairly cold and windy day in St. Andrews, so we decided not to walk down the sands as we had planned. Instead we just went for lunch at Ziggy’s and then spent the afternoon walking around the town.
We’d planned to go over to Oban for a day, but at the last minute changed our minds and spent the day driving around the Trossachs instead.
We drove out of Stirling through Doune and past the David Stirling Monument, through Callander, along Loch Venachar and stopped at Loch Katrine for a short walk around. Then over the Duke’s Pass down to Aberfoyle and back up into Callander for lunch.
After lunch we drove up past Loch Lubnaig to Balquhidder to see Rob Roy‘s grave, then over the top of Loch Earn and back to Stirling.
