Prevention of Accidents Involving Falling while Commuting or Going Out due to Snowfall

From an email that was sent round the office today, due to the recent snowfall in Tokyo:

■ How to walk safely
• Walk with smaller strides than usual
• Bend your knees a little and lean forward slightly as you walk
• Lower your center of gravity and walk with the entire surface of your shoes in contact with the ground
• Take care when starting to walk or changing speed because falls often occur at such times

    Well if you’ve never experienced the unique Japanese snow before… Anyway, did you manage to walk without mishap?

      Yes, thanks. Despite not following the instructions (didn’t want to look like a minster from the Ministry of Silly Walks) I still managed to get home safely.
