Surprising Flickr photo popularity

March 9, 2010

Pink woman stencil graffiti

This photo of a stencil sprayed on a wall in Munich is by far the most popular image on my Flickr stream.

According to the stats it currently has more than 10,000 views, which is around 3 times more than the 2nd ranking image (sea cucumbers in South Korea).

I’m surprised. I took the photo with the crappy built-in camera on a mobile phone, and I didn’t think it had come out very well.

Injured Bat

October 31, 2007

An injured bat

I found this bat in the car park beside my office during lunch time last week. It was alive, but it looked like its wing was damaged and it was just lying there.

When I left the office later, it had gone. I assume it recovered and flew off.

River-Surfing on the Isarkanal in Munich

August 13, 2007

We got a camcorder as a wedding present, and so far the only time it’s really been used is when I went down to the Isarkanal in Thalkirchen to watch some friends (and various strangers) surfing on the artificial wave.

I’ve uploaded the videos onto YouTube. Here’s one of them:

There are more on my YouTube page.

December 17, 2006

The good bits: Muse. Eugene Kelly supporting the Lemonheads. Evan Dando kicking some bloke in the head for having a mobile phone conversation while leaning on the stage during the acoustic part of the set. Richard Ashcroft for the third time.

The bad bits: Sisters of Mercy – worst concert ever.

Britboard + Toytown Munich = Toytown Germany

August 23, 2006

The Britboard and Toytown Munich have been merged to create Toytown Germany. Whether or not the new site will be greater than the sum of its parts is something we’ll have to wait to find out.

When the 2 sites were merged we found that Invision, the developers of the forum software that we use, don’t provide any way to merge two separate forum installations, so we had to do it ourselves:
